What Is a Chaplain

A Chaplain is a trained spiritual caregiver who brings comfort, prayer, encouragement, and biblical guidance to people during major life moments- illness, loss, crisis, and transition.

Program Overview

Program Name: CTBI Certificate in Christian Chaplaincy

Total Hours: 120 Hours

Format Options: Online / In - Person / Hybrid

Practicum: Supervised Field Training Included

Credential Awarded: CTBI Certified Christian Chaplain Certificate 

This program is designed for pastors, ministers, leaders, and believers who want to bring Christ-centered care into real - world settings.

8 Courses + Practicum

1. Biblical Foundations of Chaplaincy (15 hrs)

2. Pastoral Care & Spiritual Support ( 15 hrs)

3. Crisis & Trauma Ministry ( 15 hrs)

4. Grief, Death & Dying (15 hrs)

5. Hospital & Institutional Chaplaincy (15 hrs)

6. Emergency & First Responder Chaplaincy (15 hrs)

7. Chaplain Ethics & Legal Issues (15 hrs)

8. Evangelism & Ministry Presence (10 hrs)

9. Supervised Practicum (20 hrs)

Practicum (Field Training)

Students complete supervised visits and ministry experience in one or more settings such as:

. Hospitals / Nursing Homes

.Hospice / Care Centers

. Church Care Ministry

.Crisis Response Support

Practicum requirements Include:

.Documented visits

.Reflection journal

. Supervisor verification

Certificate & Commissioning

Graduates receive:

 CTBI Chaplain Certificate

CTBI Chaplain ID 

Commissioning / Endorsement Letter ( for ministry / service use)
